QMFV Alarei was a Zarasis-class light cruiser in the quarian Migrant Fleet, and the former personal laboratory ship of the late Rael'Zorah. Up until mid 2184 CE, the Alarei had been part of the Special Projects fleet under Daro'Xen, with the majority of the ship's interior cleared out for research equipment and laboratories. Rael'Zorah later ordered Daro'Xen to spare him a ship for his own research, and she gave him the Alarei. He used the ship to develop and test new anti-geth weapons in the hope of retakingRannoch, only for him to get too bold and accidentally trigger a ship-wide geth network, allowing the geth to connect to the consensus, activate and slaughter the crew of the ship. By the time reinforcements arrived, everyone on the ship had been killed, including Rael'Zorah himself.
The Alarei was later cleared out and given a new crew, where it participated in the Second Morning War. It was then one of the two thousand ships destroyed during the gargantuan First Battle of Rannoch.
